I am in deep contemplation today. Waves of revelations are being unveiled to my spirit and I find myself awakening to my true being - even MORE!! Yes, even " The Self Esteem Doctor" journeys ceaselessly through the process of self discovery because after all in each moment it is our natural state to keep growing, keep shifting, in each moment we are meant to be renewed, in each moment we are meant to evolve and so in each moment we are in fact different. It is only our thoughts and our decisions to "remain the same" that can retard our forward movement.
My well needed vacation to Connecticut this past week has helped me to become even more clear and more receptive to Divine love, teachings and lessons. I had flashbacks of a past riddled with fear... "What if I do this wrong?" "What if they don't like my opinion" "What if my decision upsets them?" The critics were so loud and the fear was paralyzing to my spirit.
Today, the Divine voice within me carries an unstoppable power of love which silences those fears - and teaches me NEVER to pass those fears on to those I love. 1 year old or 100 years old express yourself! Hold true to you! .... WAIT! not the "fearful you" who is focused on every menial, inconsequential thing, like mismatched socks and bad hair days. Not the "critical you" you who feels the need to evaluate how everyone looks, speaks and acts. Not the "stuck in old antiquated traditions you" who still believes that a person of one race is inferior to another and should be enslaved - or that one gender lacks the competence to vote and work (and requires being taken care of) while another gender is required to withhold emotions, act strong and take control of all no matter what. Not the "stuck you" who wants to accomplish much but blames others for your lack of achievements. And certainly not the "dreamless, faithless you" who has forgotten the magic of living.
Hold true to the original you. The "you" born of Divine light and love. The you who still likes to giggle and wiggle your toes as you eat your favorite dessert. The you who gazes up at the clouds and marvels that water can make those shapes and balance up in the sky like that. The you who spins in circles until you can actually see the earth spinning around you. That is the "stuff" we are made of - that's the perfect child within each of us. Some spiritual texts, like the bible talk about becoming like children to enter the kingdom of heaven. For this conversation (since I'm not with you to really get into my preaching..lol) let's say the kingdom of heaven is synonymous with Divine Happiness.
We've got to tap back into our inner child (naturally confident and fearless) to regain true Divine Happiness. Let go of the nonsense. Let go of the pain (keep the lessons). Focus less on the outside appearances, like what shade of nailpolish is acceptable this season, can you eat off the floor in my house, did you follow all the traditions as they are handed down and required of you, is my wardrobe on fleek (please don't ask me what fleek means.. I work with teens!! :-))
Now I am not saying that we can't ENJOY these pleasures and Take some pride in our appearance, please don't misunderstand - I'm about to do my nails after this post!!! ;-) What I am saying is that the obsessive focus on those things while ignoring the fulfillment of your soul will starve the true power of your spirit!
The hardest work of all is focusing WITHIN YOURSELF while maintaining consistent thoughts of love and acceptance of yourself and others. But Do it anyway!
Think of sharing love, spreading love, speaking love, accepting love, giving love, transforming hate and fear into love....and when you find yourself laughing at someone's nail polish choice, remember that that's not the type of laughter that will give you lasting happiness - that's the laughter that hurts another and leaves your own soul unfulfilled. Return to real thoughts of love. Bathe your inner self in it and raise your children in it. Be true to the you that you were born to be and not the fearful, critical you that you have practiced becoming...
